Our
first homebred Champion, Manhattan,
our September 11, 2001 pick puppy from
our first litter. He has it all; breed type, incredible soundness, a
gorgeous headpiece, bone, coat, cat feet, and beautiful angles. All this
and more with perfect markings and a tone
of "Look At Me" attitude! We would like to thank Marianne
Southall (Valamar Reg) and Beverly Wilkinson (Kawakami Perm Reg) for their input
in this first and very successful breeding and their
kind words of encouragement. Manhattan is a tremendous example of the
"Akita" breed. Both his sire and dam are "All Breed Best In
Show" winners, and he too will win Many Best In Shows!

Highlights •
Manhattan is a
Multiple Best Puppy In Show winner, both in in Canada and the United States.
Manhattan finished
his Canadian Championship Undefeated in the Group Ring. As a 7 month old
puppy he finished his first four shows by winning four Group Firsts and four
Best Puppy in Shows! Manhattan
in his first US shows won a big Major and Best Puppy in Show on Independence Day
in Springfield, MA, completely out of coat! Sending a strong message in
connection with the whole September 11th disaster. After hearing the whole
story, ringside observers as well as the judge were enlightened by the coincidence
and dates of this young, but truly Special puppy! Manhattan
was the Top Group winning Akita in Canada in 2002, in his puppy début year,
winning 7 Group Firsts out of the ten shows he did! Manhattan
was undefeated in Portland, Oregon in four straight shows at the Rose City
Classics, winning four Best of Winners and two majors.
